Turner India to launch amusement park in Surat

Turner’s internationally loved Cartoon Network characters, including Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls and Adventure Time will be part of Amaazia’s amusement park section

Turner India and the Rajgreen Group of Companies have announced a brand partnership for the launch Amaazia - India’s first Cartoon Network branded amusement park, located in Surat. The park has been conceptualized and designed by the Sanderson Group, Australia.

Turner’s internationally loved Cartoon Network characters, including Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls and Adventure Time will be part of Amaazia’s amusement park section. This will feature multiple branded zones and is scheduled to open in Q1 2019. The one-of-a-kind family entertainment destination will host 33 theme-based attractions as well as 20 unique water-slides, using state-of-the-art technology. Designed to be an immersive entertainment destination, Amaazia will be spread across an expansive 61,000 sq. meter area.

Turner India has been a pioneer in the kids’ entertainment space in India and is at the forefront of providing engaging experiences to children and families. Rajgreen Group has over two decades of pioneering work in construction; infrastructure development, entertainment and hospitality sectors. The Cartoon Network brand association with Rajgreen Group for Amaazia amusement park reflects Turner India’s focus to put fans at the core of its business, and will enable Cartoon Network fans to interact and engage with their favorite characters and properties in a new and exciting way.

Amaazia will be Cartoon Network’s first brand association for an amusement park in India. Announcing this development, Siddharth Jain, Managing Director, South Asia, Turner India, said, “India is a priority market for Turner and our partnership with Rajgreen Group will enable millions of Cartoon Network fans to interact and have fun with their favorite characters like never before.”

Commenting on the announcement, Sanjay Movaliya, Chairman, Rajgreen Group, said, “We are excited to collaborate with Turner India in our development of Amaazia. Our audience today is well-travelled and exposed to global entertainment venues. Our aim is to create a similar experience closer home, via our association with a hugely popular global brand like Cartoon Network. We are certain our brand partnership with Turner India and Cartoon Network will enable us to successfully reach out to a large fan base of kids, young adults and those young-at-heart.”

“Touted to join the metro city club by 2018, Surat will be a spectacular backdrop to host India’s first Cartoon Network branded amusement park. Amaazia will attract visitors from neighboring cities like Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Udaipur and also fans and visitors from across the nation and beyond,” Movaliya added.

Intended as a ‘daycation’ destination, Amaazia will feature theme based attractions with live shows. ‘Meet and greets’ with characters from Cartoon Network’s most loved original programs which will be one of the highlights of any visit to the park. Amaazia will be divided into four major sections – a theme park, branded by Cartoon Network, a water park, a family recreational hub and a service apartment and retail shopping area - to ensure that there is something for every visitor and for everyone in the family.

Sanderson Group, an Australian multinational firm, known for development of integrated destinations including Theme Parks, Water Parks, Hotels and Malls, has partnered with Rajgreen Group of Companies for the conceptualization and design of Amaazia. “Amaazia theme design, and concept is unique and one of its kind” said Dilip Chhugera, Managing Director, Sanderson India.

Amaazia aims to attract approximately 1 million visitors in its first year of operations, with an aim to grow steadily into a top entertainment destination in the country.
