The Honourable Governor of Maharashtra, Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao, will be the Chief Guest at the IMPACT Person of the Year (IPOY), 2017 award function in Mumbai, to be held on Monday, December 11, 2017. In its 13th year now, the exchange4media Group’s flagship IPOY award seeks to recognize and reward excellence in the world of Media, Marketing & Advertising every year.
The Governor will preside over the award function and hand over the trophy to the winner among this year’s nominees, namely Anand Kripalu, CEO & MD, Diageo India; Amitabh Kant, CEO, Niti Aayog; Ashish Bhasin, Chairman & CEO, South Asia, Dentsu Aegis Network; Baba Ramdev of Patanjali Ayurved; Bhavish Aggarwal, Co-Founder & CEO, Ola; Prasoon Joshi, CEO, India and Chairman (Asia Pacific), McCann Worldgroup; Sanjiv Mehta, CEO and Managing Director, HUL; and Suresh Narayanan, Chairman and MD, Nestle India Ltd.
Rao, a senior BJP leader from Telangana, took over the mantle of Maharashtra Governor on August 30, 2014. He has an illustrious career, having served as Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and subsequently as Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry in the government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee from 1999 to 2004. During his Parliamentary career, he has served as Member of the Committee on Public Accounts, Member of the Business Advisory Committee and as Member of the Committee on Finance. He was also a Member of the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
