Avengers Infinity War producer and president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige has confirmed Muslim superhero Ms Marvel is set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and fans want actress Priyanka Chopra to star as Kamala Khan.

Fiege mentioned in an interview that the studio is currently filming 'Captain Marvel' with Brie Larson in the lead. It will be Marvel’s first solo female superhero film where a female pilot named Carol Danvers turns into Captain Marvel after an encounter with aliens.

He also confirmed that after 2019’s 'Captain Marvel', the studio will be planning an Ms Marvel film. In the Marvel comics, Ms Marvel is inspired by Captain Marvel to become a hero, hence the similarity in the name.

When news of Ms Marvel’s debut spread, fans were quick to respond with suggestions to make Chopra the lead due to her South Asian heritage. The actress also has some history with the character. In 2016, she lent her voice to the character of Ms Marvel for a video game.

Avengers: Infinity War was the 19th film in the Marvel Universe. It has had a record-breaking performance, topping charts across the globe with a $200 million debut in China.
