  • Kartik Mohindra, currently the Managing Director of William Grant & Sons India, celebrates his birthday today, marking a career that spans over 26 years in marketing, sales, and business development within the alcohol, beverage, and FMCG sectors.
  • Prior to his current role, he served as Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Global Business Development at Pernod Ricard India, where he managed a diverse portfolio including brands like Chivas Regal and Absolut, focusing on brand strategy and market opportunities.
  • Mohindra's experience includes operational responsibilities as Profit Centre Head for the North Zone, providing him with insights into the complexities of India's alcoholic beverages market and regulatory landscape.
  • His leadership style emphasizes talent development and organizational culture, fostering independent thinking while aligning teams with shared goals, which has contributed to his successful transition from marketing to business leadership.

As Kartik Mohindra celebrates his birthday today, his professional journey reflects a steady expansion from building brands to leading businesses. Now Managing Director of William Grant & Sons India, Mohindra has built a career spanning marketing, sales and business development, with consumer understanding at the centre of his work.

With more than 26 years of experience across the alcohol, beverage and FMCG sectors at the time of his appointment in 2025, Mohindra brought considerable industry knowledge to the role. Previously Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Global Business Development at Pernod Ricard India, he worked across a portfolio that included Chivas Regal, The Glenlivet, Absolut, Jameson, Blenders Pride and Royal Stag.

His responsibilities at Pernod Ricard extended from brand strategy and innovation to developing opportunities in international markets. Working across brands with distinct identities and consumer audiences, he helped connect global positioning with the requirements of the Indian market. His experience encompassed whiskies, wines and brand extensions, giving him a broad view of the relationship between marketing decisions and commercial performance.

Mohindra’s career has also included operational responsibilities. As Profit Centre Head for the North Zone, he managed business demands within India’s complex alcoholic beverages market. That experience added a regional operating perspective to his marketing background, bringing together consumer insight, market execution and an understanding of regulatory requirements.

People development has been another recurring theme in his leadership journey. His approach has been described as calm and methodical, with an emphasis on encouraging independent thinking while keeping teams aligned around shared objectives. The attention to talent and organisational culture adds another dimension to a career associated with brand building and business growth.

His appointment at William Grant & Sons India, effective September 30, 2025, brought these experiences together in a broader leadership role. He succeeded Sachin Mehta, who moved to lead the company’s Canadian business, taking charge of a market the company identified as strategically important.

On his birthday, Mohindra’s journey offers an occasion to recognise the experience behind that progression: years spent understanding consumers, developing brands, managing markets and nurturing teams. These responsibilities have shaped his move from marketing leadership to steering a business.
