BCCI okays Torrent Group's 67% stake acquisition in Gujarat Titans

BCCI has approved the acquisition of 67% stake in IPL team Gujarat Titans by Torrent Group, media networks have reported.
Torrent Group now has majority ownership of Irelia Sports India, the owner of Gujarat Titans.
Torrent is a diversified company with interests in healthcare and energy sectors.
As part of the deal, Irelia will retain a minority stake of 33% in the franchise.
As per the company, Torrent Group has revenues of over Rs 41,000 crore.
Gujarat Titans was founded in 2022 and is one of the youngest cricket franchises in the Indian Premier League.
IPL is set to start from March 21 and the final will be held on May 25.
