A series of international music events planned in India are facing postponement, with Shakira becoming the latest global artist to postpone her 2026 tour dates which would have marked her return after nearly two decades.
Colombian global superstar Shakira was scheduled to perform in India as part of the Feeding India Concert 2026, with two major shows planned on April 10 in Mumbai (Mahalaxmi Racecourse) and April 15 in New Delhi (Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium). Organisers have cited security concerns and travel disruptions, including airspace uncertainty, as reasons for the postponement, stating that the safety of artists, crew and audiences remains the priority.
The concerts were positioned as a key part of the initiative led by District by Zomato, combining large-scale live entertainment with fundraising and awareness efforts around hunger and nutrition.
A pattern across artists
Shakira’s postponement follows similar changes involving other international acts scheduled to perform in India this season.
American rapper Kanye West (Ye) was set to make his India debut with a one-night stadium show in New Delhi on March 29, 2026, marking a significant moment for the country’s live music circuit. His concert has now been pushed to May 23, 2026 amid the same geopolitical concerns.

Meanwhile, Bahraini artist Flipperachi (famous for his viral Dhurandhar track “Fa9la”) who had announced his first India tour with performances in Mumbai (March 13, 2026) and Bengaluru (March 14, 2026), also had to postpone his concerts due to travel constraints linked to the situation.

Impact beyond concerts
The postponement of Shakira’s shows carries implications beyond entertainment. The biggest impact is on Zomato’s District platform and its Feeding India mission. The concerts were designed as the part of flagship charity events for Feeding India Concert 2026, raising funds and awareness for child nutrition.
Indian fans who had booked tickets, hotels, and flights are now dealing with uncertainty and refund processes, though District have promised existing tickets will be valid for rescheduled dates and fans unable to attend on new dates will receive a full refund.
These postponements highlight how global events and local experiences are increasingly interconnected. A disruption in one region can quickly affect schedules elsewhere, particularly for events that rely on international travel, equipment movement and coordinated timelines.
What was shaping up to be a major season for live music in India has, at least temporarily, been put on hold.
