The board of directors of Network18 Media & Investments Limited has approved the merger of its wholly-owned subsidiary News18 Marathi Private Limited. The company, formerly known as IBN Lokmat News Private Limited, will now be fully integrated into Network18.

The decision was taken during the board meeting held on 25 March 2026, with the merger set to take effect from 1 April 2026. According to the company, the move aims to strengthen its Marathi news business and streamline operations by bringing them under a single entity.

Network18 Media already operates news channels and digital platforms in Hindi, English, and several regional languages. Since News18 Marathi is a wholly-owned subsidiary, the merger will not involve any issuance of funds or shares, and the company’s shareholding structure will remain unchanged.

Financially, as of 31 March 2025, Network18 reported a turnover of approximately ₹2,206.87 crore and total assets of ₹8,317.51 crore, while News18 Marathi recorded a turnover of ₹43.02 crore and assets of ₹19.92 crore.

The merger is subject to certain statutory and regulatory approvals, which must be obtained before it is fully implemented.
