  • Indian women's cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur challenges the traditional notion of cricket as a "gentleman's game" in a new campaign titled "Not a Gentleman’s Game" for the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026.
  • The campaign highlights the team's intense training, aggressive playstyle, and recent achievements, including their World Cup victory, emphasizing that success in cricket transcends gender.
  • Rajesh Kaul from Sony Pictures Networks India praises the team for transforming cricket in India and expresses excitement for the upcoming tournament, which features a key match against Pakistan on September 5.
  • The Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 will take place in the UAE from August 28 to September 13, 2026, with coverage available on Sony Sports Network and Sony LIV.

“Na hum gentle hain, aur na hi humara game.” With that emphatic declaration, team Indian  captain Harmanpreet Kaur turns one of cricket’s most familiar descriptions on its head in Sony  Sports Network’s new campaign for the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026.

Titled ‘Not a Gentleman’s Game’, the campaign captures the intensity, aggression and  relentless preparation behind India’s rise to the top of world cricket. From solitary training  sessions, heavy weights and bruised hands to explosive performances, packed stadiums and  the World Cup triumph, the film showcases a team that plays hard, plays to win and refuses  to be defined by convention.

The film opens with Amitabh Bachchan invoking the familiar phrase, “Cricket is a gentleman’s  game,” only for Harmanpreet to dismiss it with characteristic confidence. As the action unfolds,  the message becomes unmistakable: victory has no gender; it only has the colour blue.

With India entering the tournament as world champions, the campaign builds anticipation for  its next continental challenge. Harmanpreet and her team will look to carry their winning  momentum into the UAE as they compete for the Women’s T20 Asia Cup, including the  marquee India-Pakistan clash on September 5.

Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer and Business Head, Sports and International,  Sony Pictures Networks India: "The Indian women’s team has transformed both how cricket is played and how it  is followed in this country. They are world champions, they play an aggressive and  fearless brand of cricket, and they enter every contest expecting to win. ‘Not a  Gentleman’s Game’ captures that confidence through Harmanpreet Kaur and  celebrates a team that has made the nation believe. The Women’s T20 Asia Cup  promises high-intensity cricket, and we are delighted to bring every moment of it  to audiences on Sony Sports Network and Sony LIV.”

Harmanpreet Kaur, India women’s cricket team captain: “There is nothing gentle about the way we prepare or the way we play. This film  captures the intensity, confidence and ambition of our team. We know what it  takes to win on the world stage, and we are now focused on carrying that  momentum into the Women’s T20 Asia Cup and bringing the title home.”

The campaign will run across Sony Sports Network’s television channels and on Sony LIV in  the lead-up to and during the tournament. The Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 will be played  in the UAE from August 28 to September 13, 2026.
