YouTube has once again strengthened its position in the global advertising market, reporting a massive $10.3 billion (approximately Rs 85,000 crore) in ad revenue for the third quarter of 2025. The video giant’s performance marks a 15 percent year-on-year rise from $8.9 billion (Rs 73,870 crore) last year and an increase from $9.8 billion (Rs 81,340 crore) in the previous quarter.
Its parent company, Alphabet Inc., recorded total revenue of $102.35 billion (around Rs 8.5 lakh crore), a 16 percent increase compared to last year, and earnings per share (EPS) of $2.87, exceeding market expectations of $2.27 and revenue projections of $100.14 billion.

Youtube Leads the TV Viewing Shift
YouTube’s growth reflects the larger shift in viewing habits as digital platforms continue to replace traditional television. In the United States, YouTube accounted for 12.6 percent of all TV viewing in September, surpassing Netflix and other leading streaming platforms. This surge highlights how digital video has evolved from being an alternative screen to becoming the primary destination for audiences and advertisers alike.
The platform’s appeal lies in its mix of creator-led content, live streaming, and diverse ad formats, all of which attract brands seeking to connect with younger, digitally native audiences.
Alphabet’s Winning Formula: Ads, AI and Subscriptions
Alphabet attributed its strong performance to “robust performance” across Google Search, YouTube ads, and subscription platforms. The company now has more than 300 million paid subscribers, led by Google One and YouTube Premium.
Commenting on the results, Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Google, said: “Alphabet had a terrific quarter, with double-digit growth across every major part of our business. We delivered our first-ever $100 billion quarter. Our full stack approach to AI is delivering strong momentum and we’re shipping at speed, including the global rollout of AI Overviews and AI Mode in Search in record time. In addition to topping leaderboards, our first party models, like Gemini, now process 7 billion tokens per minute, via direct API use by our customers. The Gemini App now has over 650 million monthly active users. We continue to drive strong growth in new businesses. Google Cloud accelerated, ending the quarter with $155 billion in backlog. And we have over 300 million paid subscriptions led by Google One and YouTube Premium.”
The record-breaking quarter highlights YouTube’s growing influence on how brands plan their global media spends, including in India, one of YouTube’s largest markets by audience.
