The exit occurred during a funding round that valued TVF at approximately $22 million, a significant decrease from its $82 million valuation in 2019.
The transaction involved the sale of up to a 40% stake in TVF, with new investors including Lighthouse India Fund-I, Frontier Globecap Ventures, and LC Nueva Advisors LLP.
Tiger Global initially invested in TVF's parent company, Contagious Online Media Network, in 2016, acquiring a 25% stake for $10 million, with additional investments made through 2019.

Private equity firm Tiger Global Management has exited its investment in Indian digital entertainment company The Viral Fever (TVF), the creator of shows including Kota Factory and Panchayat, according to news reports citing people familiar with the transaction.

Tiger Global sold its stake as part of a funding round that valued TVF at around $22 million, significantly below the company’s $82 million valuation in 2019, the reports said. Investors participating in the transaction included Lighthouse India Fund-I, Frontier Globecap Ventures and LC Nueva Advisors LLP. The deal involved the sale of up to a 40% stake in the company.

Tiger Global had first invested in TVF’s parent company, Contagious Online Media Network, in 2016, acquiring a significant minority stake of about 25%. The investment was initially worth $10 million, with the private equity firm subsequently putting in additional capital through 2019.

According to earlier media reports, TVF was valued at approximately $61 million in February 2016, when Tiger Global made its initial investment.
