Projjol Banerjea, Founder & Chief Product Officer, Zeotap might pull off the most grueling of weekdays like a boss but he ensures that there is never a dull weekend. From whipping up the softest and swoon-worthy scrambled eggs to catching up on his sleep as well as long adda sessions with friends and family, he lives up his weekends and how! In this weekend chill-out section, he opens up on how he aces his weekends, his elusive mega-adventure goal and more…

On a typical weekend you will find me...
Doing one or more of the following:
• listening to my LP collection (with everything from Mukesh to Metallica)
• catching up on reading (I’m currently finishing the Harari books and have a couple of interesting ones lined up including Done: The Billion Dollar Deals & How They're Changing Our World and The Three-Body Problem)
• exploring new beers/wines/gins/rums/whiskeys and establishments that serve them
• enjoying long adda sessions with family and friends, whether in person or via phone/WhatsApp/Skype etc.

My idea of relaxing is...
Sleeping

One vice I cannot do without...

It’s difficult to pick just one from my arsenal, but if I were compelled to choose I’d have to go with my penchant for ghee (though my grand-mum insists it’s good for me).

That said, I’m reminded of Abraham Lincoln’s famous comment: “It has been my experience that those who have no vices have very few virtues.”

I confess, I am a...

Chocoholic. Actually, my Bengali genes have endowed me with a lethal sweet tooth and fondness for almost any kind of dessert. However, ones with chocolate (preferably dark) and gur (jaggery)   tend to be a particular weakness.

I spend me-time on...
Some form of physical activity, whether that’s running, rowing, swimming, working out or yoga. I find it remarkably cathartic.

The last show I binge watched...

Abstract: The Art of Design, a Netflix documentary series highlighting artists the world over in the field of design.

Others from the past couple of years I’d recommend Peaky Blinders, The Night Manager, The Crown, Luther, Narcos and, of course, Sherlock and Game of Thrones.

I spend a lot of time on flights and can usually be found either catching up on sleep (more often than not) or devouring books / TV shows on my iPad.

I can make a mean ...
The softest of scrambled eggs –– the secret is to not beat the eggs prior to cooking them. I’m also known to make a formidable (if I may say so myself) ragu where the richness comes from using Sangiovese in both the marinade and the sauce.

A skill/hobby I want to learn this year...
Reactivating my hopelessly dormant Spanish (from my college years) and brushing up my German (from my time in Berlin). But I’d said the same last year. And the year before …

My next vacation/adventure will be ...
Augmenting work-related travel with short getaways in Amsterdam towards the end of the year and Barcelona early in the new year –– both cities my wife and I love visiting.

Of course, the elusive mega-adventure goal remains a motorcycle trip through South America (inspired in some part by the movie Che but with less noble and more touristy aspirations). However, that will have to wait until we both have the opportunity to take a few months off.
