While PR Lions on the whole saw a drop in metals awarded, 2011 is India’s best year so far in the category with three Silver Lions. BBDO India was awarded two Silvers for Shave Sutra for Gillette, while Mudra was awarded one Silver for Silent Anthem for Reliance. Jury member, Veena Gidwani, Madison PR, stated that India had good work, but a lot of better work was missing.

And the Silent Anthem has done it for Mudra Communications in the Promo Lions category, winning the agency two Bronzes. These turned out to be the only two wins of the category. Jury member Brian Tellis of FountainHead did not shy away from stating that the experiential marketing companies that should have won in this category had not even participated.

UTV has posted an interactive jukebox sing-along experience to promote their upcoming movie ‘Delhi Belly’ on YouTube. The music of ‘Delhi Belly’ has been placed in a karaoke jukebox on YouTube, where eight audio tracks from the movie are embedded into a single clip, which can then be accessed individually by clicking on different parts of the video, displayed as buttons on an old fashioned TV set.

McCann Worldgroup is the only agency from India that has managed to make it to Radio Lions shortlist. With two pieces of work for Onida DVD Players and one for Radio Mirchi, the agency has a total of three shortlisted entries.

In Outdoor Lion, a total of 11 pieces of work, comprising five entries, have been shortlisted from India. BBDO India, Sorento Healthcare, Joshbro Communication, TapRoot India and McCann Worldgroup are the competing agencies in this category.

Nineteen pieces of work have made it to the Press Lions shortlist out of a total of 267 entries submitted from India. Mudra has six pieces of work shortlisted. Grey Worldwide, McCann Worldgroup, BBDO India and Ogilvy each have three pieces of work shortlisted. TapRoot India has one entry in the shortlist.
