On a petition filed by Sanjay Agarwal, co-owner of Dainik Bhaskar, the Delhi High Court has given a judgment to stop the publication of the newly launched Ranchi edition of Dainik Bhaskar. As is known, Agarwal had taken the legal route to object DB Corp’s use of the Dainik Bhaskar brand name in various states for the newspaper. This decision is being seen as a part of that.

Kaushik Roy of Reliance Industries Ltd has been unanimously elected as new President of the India Chapter of the International Advertising Association for the year 2010-11 at its annual general meeting held in Mumbai on August 27, 2010. Lynn de Souza of Lintas Media Group, who was the Honorary Secretary of the India Chapter of IAA for the past two years, is the new Vice-President.

“A huge gap has opened up, we can’t deny that. China is four times India’s size… Having said that, the institutional strength of India is extremely strong as well, the entrepreneurial strength of India is extremely strong as well. Where India lacks and virtually languishes frankly, is in the ability of Indian state to become entrepreneurial and take risks,” notes Raghav Bahl, Managing Director, Network 18 Group.
