Close on the heels of the General Motors win, Madison Media has added another large business to its kitty – Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd (STFC), India’s largest player in commercial vehicle finance. The size of the business is approximately worth Rs 50 crore. It is for the first time that the business has been consolidated to a media AOR.

Joseph Eapen has been appointed as CEO of Media Research Users Council (MRUC). The development was announced by Andrey Purushottam, Chairman of the Council on behalf of the MRUC Board. Eapen will join by the end of this month. His last assignment was as CEO of aMap.

MTV is scaling up its programming line-up in the year ahead and has decided to add more long-format shows. This decision was taken after shows such as ‘Roadies’, ‘Splitsvilla’ and ‘Rock On’ have carved a niche for themselves. The production of these long formats would be done by external content and production companies.

GrihShobha, the women-centric magazine from Delhi Press, has adopted a new design and fresh look for its Hindi, Bangla and Tamil editions. This marks the beginning of the revamp process of the various magazines in Delhi Press’ bouquet. Apart from the design and look, some changes have also been made in the content of GrihShobha.

After a good quarter of a century Rasna has come up with a new marketing strategy. For years kids had been cooing ‘I love you Rasna’ in its various ads, now the brand has adopted a new tag line – ‘Shararat ek ghoont’ – to appeal to today’s gadget-savvy, highly informed kids. Rasna is also targeting rural areas and small towns in a big way.

‘Industry needs to mull over the issue of fresh applications for uplinking/ downlinking TV channels’
MIB has started receiving fresh applications for uplinking/ downlinking of TV channels from April 1. It may be recalled that in January this year, MIB had announced that it had suspended considering the pending or new applications with the Ministry regarding uplinking and downlinking of TV channels in India. exchange4media spoke to CASBAA and the IBF to throw more light on this issue.
