Swiggy’s ad spends jump 94% YoY

Swiggy’s aggressive marketing push continued through the first half of FY26, with advertising and sales promotion spends surging even as losses deepened.
The company reported ad and sales promotion expenses of Rs 1,039 crore in the July–September quarter, a marginal 0.3% increase from Rs 1,036 crore in the preceding quarter (Q1 FY26) and a sharp 94% rise from Rs 537 crore in Q2 FY25.
For the half year ended September 2025, Swiggy’s ad spends nearly doubled to Rs 2,075 crore from Rs 982 crore in H1 FY25, reflecting intensified competition and customer acquisition efforts in both its food delivery and quick commerce segments.
Swiggy’s revenue from operations grew 54% year-on-year to Rs 5,561 crore in Q2 FY26 from Rs 3,601 crore in Q2 FY25, while also registering a 12% sequential increase over Rs 4,961 crore reported in Q1 FY26.
For H1 FY26, revenue from operations stood at Rs 10,522 crore, compared with Rs 6,824 crore in the same period last year. Including other income, total income rose to Rs 5,620 crore in Q2 FY26 from Rs 3,686 crore in Q2 FY25 and Rs 5,048 crore in the preceding quarter.
On a half-yearly basis, total income touched Rs 10,668 crore, up 52% from Rs 6,996 crore in H1 FY25.
Total expenses for the July–September 2025 quarter climbed to Rs 6,711 crore, up 8% sequentially from Rs 6,244 crore and 56% higher year-on-year from Rs 4,309 crore. For H1 FY26, total expenses grew to Rs 12,955 crore, compared with Rs 8,217 crore in the corresponding period last year.
The rise was primarily driven by elevated marketing investments, delivery and logistics costs, and higher employee expenses. Delivery and related charges stood at Rs 1,426 crore in Q2 FY26, up 30% from Rs 1,095 crore in Q2 FY25 and 9% higher than Rs 1,313 crore in Q1 FY26.
Swiggy reported a consolidated loss before tax of Rs 1,092 crore in Q2 FY26, compared with Rs 1,197 crore in the preceding quarter and Rs 626 crore in Q2 FY25. For the first half of FY26, the company posted a loss before tax of Rs 2,289 crore, deeper than Rs 1,237 crore recorded in H1 FY25.
