Serena Menon, Head of PR at Netflix India, has moved on. She will join Amazon Prime Video, to lead the Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios APAC teams. Menon, who will replace Sonia Huria, will report in to Paul Woodmansey, Director of International Communications for Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios.
Responding to a query from e4m, Woodmansey shared that Menon will oversee Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios communications teams across the region (with teams based in Mumbai, Tokyo and Singapore), and she will work with and alongside other regional comms leaders - Manisha Ferdinand - Communications Director, Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios Europe, Middle East & Africa and David Flores-Sanchez, Head of Communications, Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios Latin America, Canada & Australia – to lead the international communications group.
Menon was leading public relations for Netflix India, where she was responsible for driving communications strategy for the platform’s content slate, brand positioning and corporate storytelling during a period of intensified competition among OTT players.
A seasoned communications professional, she brings a strong blend of media, entertainment and editorial experience to the role.
Prior to joining Netflix, Menon worked as a journalist with publications including Hindustan Times and ELLE, before transitioning into strategic communications and marketing leadership roles.
Over the years, she has played a central role in shaping Netflix India’s media engagement and narrative-building efforts as the platform expanded its original content footprint and deepened local storytelling investments in the country.
Her move to Prime Video comes at a time when streaming platforms are sharpening brand and communications strategies amid evolving audience behaviour, rising content investments and growing advertiser interest in premium digital video ecosystems.
