Veteran Editor Alok Mehta joins Varta24 Media as Managing Editor & Chief Strategic Officer

Varta24 Media has announced the appointment of eminent Editor, author, broadcaster, media strategist, and Padma Shri awardee Alok Mehta as its Managing Editor & Chief Strategic Officer. Earlier, he was Editorial Director of India News of ITV Group Since 2022.

Alok Mehta is among India's most respected journalists, with over five decades of distinguished experience in journalism, editorial leadership, public affairs, and media management. Throughout his illustrious career, he has played a pivotal role in shaping Hindi journalism and has mentored generations of journalists.

He was with Hindusthan Samachar between 1971 to 75 and with Saptahik Hindustan between 1976 to 79. Between 1979 and 1982, Mehta served as the Hindi Editor at Voice of Germany at Cologne). He later contributed for a decade as regular commentator for Voice of America Hindi Service Radio and Website (Delhi). Over the years, he has led several of India's most influential publications, including Outlook  Hindi, Navbharat Times,Hindustan , Nai Dunia, Dainik Bhaskar, National Dunia, and Governance Now Hindi.

Apart from his editorial achievements, Mehta has made remarkable contributions to media institutions. He served as President of the Editors Guild of India for two years and General Secretary for four years. He has also been a member of the National Integration Council and the Press Council of India.

Mehta is also an accomplished author. His latest bestselling book, "The Revolutionary Raj: Narendra Modi's 25 Years," featuring a foreword by Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, presents an extensive analysis of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's twenty-five-year political and governance journey.
