Audio storytelling platform Pocket FM has appointed Vasu Sharma as its new Head of AI, as the company continues to strengthen its focus on AI-driven content creation and storytelling. Sharma will report to Prateek Dixit, Co-Founder of Pocket FM, and will lead the platform’s AI research and applied innovation across story creation, production intelligence, and large-scale localisation.
Before joining Pocket FM, Vasu worked with Meta’s Facebook AI Research (FAIR) team. During his time there, he was part of several major initiatives in multimodal and large language models, including projects such as Llama, Chameleon, MaVIL, and advanced audio-video foundation models.
Speaking about his new role, Vasu said that Pocket FM offers a unique blend of technology, creativity, and global reach. He highlighted the opportunity to build strong AI systems designed specifically for fiction writing and storytelling. His focus will be on improving Pocket FM’s in-house language models and enhancing the AI CoPilot so it can better support writers in developing story ideas, maintaining emotional depth, preserving creative voice, and adapting content accurately across different languages and cultures. He added that the long-term goal is to create a new generation of stories powered by AI and shaped by human creativity.
In his role, Vasu will be responsible for advancing Pocket FM’s proprietary AI CoPilot and internal language models that assist creators with ideation, writing, plot development, editing, emotional flow, and multilingual adaptation. He will also work on building creator-focused AI tools and scaling AI-assisted production processes, while ensuring that creativity remains human-led.
Commenting on the appointment, Prateek Dixit said that Vasu’s strong background in AI research and long-form language models will help accelerate Pocket FM’s creator-first AI strategy. He added that the company views AI as a tool to enhance creativity, not replace it, and that Vasu’s leadership will help strengthen its AI platforms and expand storytelling across global markets with cultural relevance and scale.
