Sudhir Langer has stepped down as Whole-time Director at RPSG Ventures and relinquish his position on the company’s board, with his exit effective March 31, 2026.

The move comes at a crucial juncture, aligning with the ongoing Indian Premier League season. RPSG Ventures owns the Lucknow Super Giants, one of the newer additions to the tournament. Langer’s departure also coincides with growing market speculation that the RP-SG Group is exploring ways to partially monetise its stake in the franchise.

Buzz around a potential transaction has been building. Reports indicate that the group, led by Sanjiv Goenka, is evaluating the sale of up to a 15% minority stake in the team. There has been no official confirmation though.

The Lucknow franchise was acquired in November 2021 for ₹7,090 crore, placing it among the highest-valued teams in the Indian Premier League. Operated under RPSG Sports Private Limited, it has since become a key part of the group’s sports portfolio.
