Resurgent India: GC Murmu, Animesh Chauhan & Nirupama Shekhar are Independent Directors

Resurgent India has further strengthened its leadership with the appointment of three experienced professionals bringing deep expertise in public administration, banking, financial services and management. Their combined experience in governance, institutional leadership and the financial sector will support Resurgent India in further strengthening and expanding its integrated advisory capabilities.

Recent additions to the Board include Mr. G.C. Murmu, former Comptroller and Auditor General of India; Mr. Animesh Chauhan, former Managing Director & CEO of Oriental Bank of Commerce; and Ms. Nirupama Shekhar, Senior Vice President, IMA India. All three have joined the Board as Independent Directors.

Mr. G. C. Murmu brings extensive experience in public administration, governance and institutional leadership. A 1985-batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the Gujarat cadre, he served as the 14th Comptroller and Auditor General of India and, earlier, as the first Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He also held several senior positions in the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat, including serving as Principal Secretary to Shri Narendra Modi during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Mr. Animesh Chauhan is a seasoned banker with more than three decades of experience across a wide range of banking functions and leadership roles. He served as Executive Director of Central Bank of India before being appointed Managing Director & CEO of Oriental Bank of Commerce. His experience spans retail banking, transaction banking, and MSME and priority-sector banking

Ms. Nirupama Shekhar brings over two decades of experience in business intelligence, strategic partnerships and alliances. At IMA India, she has been associated as a Senior Vice President and Head of Partnerships and Alliances. Her experience includes building partnerships and managing relationships with senior business leaders and organisations across sectors.

These appointments have been made at a time when Resurgent India is expanding its offerings in areas like investment banking, debt syndication, stressed asset advisory, IBC services, BFSI funding and advisory, project appraisal, valuation, government and transactions advisory, capital market solutions, and legal advisory to corporates.
