Pidilite’s Sudhanshu Vats likely to be next ASCI Chairman

Pidilite Industries Managing Director Sudhanshu Vats is set to become the next Chairman of the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI), exchange4media has learnt.

The appointment is likely to be confirmed at ASCI’s annual general meeting scheduled today, according to people familiar with the matter.

Vats, who served as ASCI’s Vice Chairman in the previous term–2024-25, is next in line for the role as per tradition. If appointed, Vats will succeed the current Chairman Partha Sinha.

Vats’ elevation comes at a time when the self-regulatory body is sharpening its focus on digital advertising, consumer protection, and industry-wide accountability.

An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and NIT Kurukshetra, Vats brings with him over three decades of cross-sectoral leadership. Before joining Pidilite, he was the Managing Director and CEO of EPL Limited (formerly Essel Propack), and prior to that, the Group CEO and Managing Director of Viacom18 Media Pvt Ltd.

Vats began his career at Hindustan Lever (now HUL) in 1991, spending two decades across Sales, Marketing, and General Management, shaping some of India’s most iconic household brands.
