WPP is set to appoint Tyler Turnbull, global CEO of McCann, as global CEO of WPP Creative, media networks have reported. He will succeed Jon Cook, who is due to step down by March.
It is not yet clear whether Turnbull's role would extend beyond WPP Creative. He also interviewed for the global CEO position at Ogilvy before Laurent Ezekiel was named to it in late 2025.
Turnbull became McCann's global CEO last December, after Omnicom completed its acquisition of IPG. He now leads one of the three creative networks under Omnicom Advertising, alongside BBDO and TBWA.
Before McCann, he spent over a decade at IPG's FCB. He joined in 2014 to turn around its struggling Canadian business, went on to lead the New York office, became North America CEO in 2019 and was elevated to global CEO in 2022. FCB has since been merged into BBDO following the Omnicom deal.
