- The Media Research Users Council India (MRUCI) has appointed Ms. Kaacon Sethi as its new CEO, effective October 8, 2026, filling a leadership position vacant for nearly six years.
- Sethi brings over 35 years of experience in media, entertainment, sports, content, and marketing, having held significant roles at companies such as Sony Entertainment Television and Dainik Bhaskar Group.
- Her leadership will coincide with the re-launch of the Indian Readership Survey (IRS), focusing on enhanced study design and methodology for measuring media quality and impact.
- MRUCI Chairman Vikram Sakhuja expressed enthusiasm for Sethi's appointment, emphasizing the need for credibility and innovation in audience measurement.
The Media Research Users Council India (MRUCI) today announced Ms. Kaacon Sethi as its new CEO, effective October 8, 2026.
The appointment fills a leadership position that has been vacant for close to six years and comes at a critical juncture, with the imminent revival of the Indian Readership Survey (IRS).
Sethi brings over 35 years of leadership experience across India's media, entertainment, sports, content and marketing ecosystem.
She began her career in media planning and buying with leading agencies before joining Sony Entertainment Television where she went on to head Marketing & Sales for SET and concurrently launched Sony MAX as its Business Head with P&L responsibility. Her executive leadership roles include serving as CEO of K Sera Sera Productions and leading branded content solutions at Lintas Media Group.
Most recently, Kaacon spent over a decade as Chief Corporate Marketing Officer at the Dainik Bhaskar Group. She subsequently served as Client Lead for the Kantar–Dainik Bhaskar Urban Bharat initiative and Report.
Sethi will lead MRUCI at a pivotal moment for the organisation, as it works to re-launch the IRS with an enhanced study design, refined methodology and a new framework for measuring media quality and impact.
