John Nitti, who served as the Global Head of Revenue Operations & Advertising Innovation at X (formerly Twitter), has stepped down from his role. According to reports, Nitti resigned 10 months after joining the company.
During his tenure at X, he incubated new and emerging advertising opportunities, focusing on video innovation and leveraging APIs for data-driven advertising solutions. He also developed strategies for video innovation, programmatic advertising, data, and new product offerings.
Nitti had been viewed as a possible successor to former CEO Linda Yaccarino. The FT reports that Musk’s sudden ban on hashtags in advertising, allegedly made without consulting the ad leadership, left several leaders unsettled.
Before joining X, Nitti spent nearly a decade at Verizon and also worked with American Express for nearly six years.
