Dentsu has announced the appointment of Bishwarup Chakrabarti as General Counsel for South Asia, further strengthening its regional leadership.
Chakrabarti joins the company from Eros Media World PLC, where he most recently served as General Counsel. A graduate of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), he brings over two decades of legal experience across the media and entertainment industry.
His career includes senior legal roles at organisations such as Viacom18 and Sony, where he worked closely with leadership teams in navigating regulatory challenges and supporting business growth. His areas of expertise include media law, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
Commenting on his move in a social media post, Chakrabarti said his professional journey over the past 20 years has been shaped by meaningful experiences across media, entertainment, and digital businesses. He added that he is thankful for the relationships built along the way and is eager to begin this new chapter with Dentsu and its teams.
