- Arijit Datta has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Restaurant Brands Asia, effective October 8, 2025, as announced in a stock exchange filing.
- The Board of Directors approved his appointment during a meeting on October 7, 2025, and he will also serve as Key Managerial Personnel (KMP) under the Companies Act, 2013.
- Sumit Zaveri, who was serving as Interim CFO since May 6, 2025, will revert to his role as Group CFO and Chief Business Officer, remaining a KMP.
- Datta brings over 20 years of experience in finance and business management, previously serving as CFO at Pepe Jeans India Limited and holding positions at Agro Tech Foods Ltd. and Eveready Industries India Ltd.
Arijit Datta has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer at Restaurant Brands Asia, the operator of Burger King India. The company informed about the new appointment of CFO in a stock exchange filing.
“The Board of Directors at its meeting held today i.e., Tuesday, October 07, 2025, has inter-alia considered and approved the appointment of Mr. Arijit Datta as the Chief Financial Officer of the Company with effect from October 08, 2025. Mr. Arijit Datta has also been designated as Key Managerial Personnel (‘KMP’) of the Company as per the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013, with effect from October 08, 2025”, the filing stated.
"Pursuant to the above, Mr. Sumit Zaveri, who was appointed as Interim CFO of the Company with effect from May 06, 2025 ceases to be Interim CFO of the Company with effect from the close of business hours today i.e., October 07, 2025. Mr. Sumit Zaveri will continue in his role as Group Chief Financial Officer & Chief Business Officer and also continue to be the KMP of the Company", the filing added.
Datta is a professional having more than 2 decades of experience in the areas of Strategic Business Partnering, Governance, Compliances and Board Processes, Finance, Commercial, Taxation, FP&A, MIS & Reporting and Budgetary analysis.
Prior to this, he was Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with Pepe Jeans India Limited. Earlier, he has also worked with Companies like Agro Tech Foods Ltd. & Eveready Industries India Ltd.
