Amlan Mohanty has been appointed as the Head of Policy – India. He shared the news of his new role through a LinkedIn post. He said he is excited to shape Anthropic's presence in India and build trusted partnerships with government, industry and civil society.
"I'm thrilled to be joining Anthropic to lead policy in India! I respect Anthropic’s research and safety-first approach to building AI, which aligns with my personal values. The people I’ve met are smart, mission-driven and intellectually honest – and they ship great products at incredible speed”, the LinkedIn post.
“Two weeks inside a frontier AI lab has left me feeling more convinced about the power of this technology to radically improve our lives. Equally, we need to be mindful of the risks and act thoughtfully, which I’ve written about extensively”, the post added.
Before joining Anthropic, Mohanty served as an Associate Fellow at the Centre for Responsible AI. In this role, he was responsible for writing research papers and advising on AI safety and governance issues.
