Prasar Bharati has invited comments on key issues related to the DD Free Dish e-auction methodology, aiming to make the process more inclusive and efficient ahead of future auctions.
One of the areas open for feedback is the rationalisation of channel categorisation, including buckets, genres, and languages. The aim is to ensure wider representation and a more diverse mix of content that caters to India’s varied linguistic and cultural audience.
The broadcaster is also looking to streamline the auction structure, seeking inputs on optimising the number of auction rounds and the process of slot allocation across different stages.
Another focus area is expanding the geographic reach of DD Free Dish, particularly into regions that remain underserved. Suggestions are invited on how the platform can enhance its accessibility and penetration across the country.
Additionally, stakeholders are encouraged to share any other relevant feedback or concerns regarding the e-auction process, to help make it more transparent and effective.
The move comes in the backdrop of issues raised during previous auction cycles, where broadcasters had pointed to concerns around disqualification norms, tight scrutiny deadlines, and lack of clarity in communication. With this consultation, Prasar Bharati appears to be taking a step towards addressing such concerns and enhancing stakeholder confidence in the auction process.
Comments can be submitted to Prasar Bharati by August 11, 2025.
