Prachi Sahay to lead business planning for the cluster at JioStar

Prachi Sahay will be head of business planning for the cluster at JioStar. Her appointment is a part of the leadership reshuffle following the formation of a joint venture between Reliance Industries Limited, Viacom18 Media, and The Walt Disney Company.

A pricing strategy, product management, marketing and analytics professional, she brings to JioStar over 13 years of experience across media & entertainment, telecom and satellite television. Sahay will be a part of the team led by Alok Jain, who will head the entertainment cluster for the Reliance-Disney joint venture.

At JioStar, she will be responsible for business planning for the cluster, driving strategic initiatives to align with the joint venture’s revenue and growth goals.

At Disney Star, Sahay held several leadership positions including Head of Product & Revenue Strategy- Disney Star Regionals, Vice President - Product & Revenue Strategy, Assistant Vice President - Product & Revenue Strategy and Senior Manager - Product & Revenue Strategy. Sahay’s professional journey includes notable roles at Tata Sky Ltd. and Vodafone.

With Reliance holding a 56% majority stake, the joint venture merges the media assets of Viacom18, JioCinema, and Star India, forming a media conglomerate valued at approximately Rs 70,352 crore (US$8.5 billion). Backed by an investment of Rs 11,500 crore (US$1.4 billion) from Reliance, the new entity will operate 100 TV channels, produce over 30,000 hours of content annually, and reach a digital subscriber base of more than 50 million.
