The South Korean entertainment label, HYBE, who is behind groups like BTS, SEVENTEEN, and LE SSERAFIM has officially confirmed its expansion to India. In line with Chairperson Bang Si-Hyuk’s “multi-home, multi-genre” vision, HYBE will establish its Indian subsidiary between September and October 2025.

A HYBE spokesperson shared, “We are actively conducting market research and working on the logistics for the Indian subsidiary aiming to export K-pop methodologies globally.”

Backed by a 1.4 billion population and fast penetration of the digital ecosystem, India becomes the natural stop for the label from a business standpoint. As of April 2025, HYBE operates in the United States, Japan, China and Latin America. Its collaboration with Universal Music Group’s Geffen Records led to the debut of KATSEYE—a girl group whose first single, Touch, remained on the Global Song Chart for 13 consecutive weeks.

“To win globally, you have to go local — and K-pop’s success is built on understanding audiences as deeply as possible,” one HYBE executive said. It is anticipated that the India launch will employ a similar localization strategy, fusing local language and culture with HYBE’s refined idol-training ecosystem.

With India as its fifth major overseas market, HYBE strengthens its global presence.
