Ranbir Kapoor turns 42 today. The actor who has been known for his Bollywood roles has been quite a hit in the endorsement universe too with several ads and campaigns to his credit.
“Ranbir Kapoor is undeniably a talented actor who has delivered multiple box office hits. His career reflects a willingness to take risks, both in the characters he chooses and the image he projects. This fearlessness in trying new roles has always set him apart in Bollywood,” said N Chandramouli, CEO, TRA Research.
While Ranbir has had long associations with brands like Coca-Cola, Lays and TAG Heuer, he has clinched several endorsements recently, some with his wife Alia Bhatt, such as for FabriCare, Lays and Flipkart.
On Ranbir’s endorsement choices, Chandramouli said: “His appearances in family-centric advertisements provide a contrast to his more intense roles on screen. Ads, however, are more about brand-controlled narratives, and it's clear that brands want to leverage not just his popularity but also his current family man image. This is a strategic positioning that appeals to a broad audience, and we’re likely to see more of this in the future.”
Sharing more insights, Dr. Sandeep Goyal, Chairman, Rediffusion, said: “All stars try to maintain a ‘rounded’ brand personality. Ranbir always had a lovey-dovey soft Romeo image till ‘Brahmastra’ and ‘Animal’ came along. For generations, the Kapoor brand name has stood for passion of the heart, not action brawn.”
