Comic Con India & Archie Comics launch 'Archie in the Incredible Comic Con India' book
The limited-edition, India-specific comic book features Archie and the whole gang in India, indulging in fun-filled adventures at Comic Con India
Archie and his pals are back in India, as Comic-Con India enters into a first-of-its-kind comic book collaboration with Archie Comics to create an original story for fans of Comic-Con. Titled “Archie in the Incredible Comic Con India”, the story exemplifies the spirit of both Archie Comics and the fun experience of Comic-Con India.
Set in contemporary times, The India-specific comic book features Archie and the whole gang in India, indulging in fun-filled adventures at Comic Con India. From cosplay to comics, to selfies and merch shopping; Archie, Jughead, Reggie, Betty, and Veronica soak in the complete Comic Con India experience.
The comic book has been created by a creative team at Comic Con India along with leading artists & writers from the house of Archie Comics – Dan Parent (Cover), Bill Golliher (Script & Comic Art), Jack Morelli (Lettering) and Glenn Whitmore (Color). The limited-edition comic book will be provided to every member/fan/audience visiting Comic Con India shows in 2019 in the cities of Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, and Ahmedabad.
Speaking on this remarkable association, Jatin Varma, Founder, Comic Con India said, “The launch of this limited edition comic book intends to reignite the ‘American Dreams’ of Indian pop culture enthusiasts. The Archie Comics line of comic books is one of the most successful, longest-running brands in the history of the comic industry. Archie Comics has sold 2 billion comics and is published in a dozen different foreign languages and distributed all over the world.
Created in 1941, by publisher John L Goldwater, writer Vic Bloom, and artist Bob Montana, Archie Andrews, the main protagonist has always been a character of adaptable tissues. The character has gained immense popularity in Australia, India, and parts of Japan for its iconic nature and the ability to absorb and reflect cultural aspirations across time and space.
