The following has been reproduced from a LinkedIn post by Tarun Garg:

This week, as I addressed my first Townhall after resuming the role of MD & CEO at Hyundai Motor India Limited, I felt immense pride and optimism as we celebrate 30 remarkable years in India.

From the iconic Santro in 1998 to becoming one of India’s most trusted automotive brands today, Hyundai’s journey has been defined by one unwavering commitment- bringing global innovation and future-ready mobility to Indian customers. Hyundai has consistently redefined customer expectations in India through breakthrough technologies such as introduction of power steering in mass market, democratisation of sunroofs, standardisation of 6 airbags, Bluelink connectivity and India’s first electric SUV.

Today, Hyundai stands for Trust, Pride and Progress - a belief reflected in the confidence of 13.5 million customers globally, including 9.6 million in India.

At the Townhall, I reflected on our key milestones in FY25-26, start of production of the new Venue at our state-of-the-art Pune plant, Hyundai new VENUE achieving a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating, our partnership with ICC, our recognition as a Top Employer for the third consecutive year, sustained leadership journey of the Hyundai CRETA and agility & collaboration demonstrated by our teams across Chennai and Pune during the year.

The year also saw multiple product interventions across the Grand i10 NIOS, i20, EXTER and CRETA, helping us stay closely aligned with evolving customer aspirations and market demand. Beyond products, we continued to strengthen customer experience through digital and proactive service initiatives across the value chain.

Looking ahead, our ambitions remain bold and future focused. Between FY26-FY30, Hyundai will introduce 26 new products in India including EVs and hybrids, invest INR 45,000 crore and introduce luxury brand Genesis in India. So our commitment to India is stronger than ever.

But beyond strategy and numbers, enduring success is ultimately shaped by people, purpose and mindset. At Hyundai, our responsibility goes beyond building great products. It is about fostering a culture that inspires innovation, nurtures talent and creates meaningful progress for customers, communities and society at large.

In an era where AI is rapidly redefining industries, businesses and consumer expectations, continuous learning and adaptability will be the defining strengths of future leaders. I encouraged every employee to embrace AI-led transformation, upskill continuously and cultivate a mindset of innovation, because future will surely belong to those who learn faster, adapt quicker and create smarter.

At 30, Hyundai in India feels young, energetic and future ready. And I truly believe our best chapters are still ahead of us.

It is a great time to be with Hyundai Motor Company.
