Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Monday launched the India Today Tamil YouTube channel, urging the platform to “let truth speak louder”. The launch took place at the India Today Tamil Roundtable in Chennai, which Vijay inaugurated as his TVK government completed 100 days in office.
The event marked Vijay’s first media engagement since assuming office in May, following state assembly elections in which his newly formed TVK made a striking debut, winning 108 of the 234 seats and dislodging the ruling DMK.
The Tamil Nadu Roundtable features a cross-section of political leaders, policymakers, industry representatives and entertainment personalities, bringing them together to assess the government’s first 100 days and discuss the major issues confronting the state.
Former BJP leader K Annamalai, who left the party following the Tamil Nadu elections and has since launched an independent grassroots political initiative, will speak about his political evolution and future plans in a session titled ‘Annamalai Beyond BJP’.
Sports Minister Aadhav Arjuna will outline the government’s achievements and priorities during its first 100 days in power.
The politically charged issue of delimitation will also come under the spotlight, with MDMK MP Durai Vaiko, Congress MP Praveen Chakravarty, BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan and DMK spokesperson Salem Dharanidharan taking part in a dedicated discussion.
The Cauvery water dispute will be examined in a session featuring PMK MP Anbumani Ramadoss, while DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran will participate in a separate political discussion. Actor Dhruv Vikram will also appear in an exclusive session.
The Roundtable will additionally focus on Tamil Nadu’s economic outlook, investment climate and key policy concerns, including corruption, education, energy, public finances and healthcare.
