About the Book
The book is a monumental addition to Indian legal literature, tracing the chronological and thematic evolution of environmental constitutionalism. It documents how the Indian judiciary transformed environmental protection - from a peripheral administrative issue into a core constitutional responsibility under Article 21 (Right to Life).
Dr. Lalit Bhasin, Presiding Officer:
“Mr. Mishra’s work masterfully bridges the gap between constitutional ideals and enforcement realities. Sustainability and environmental protection must go hand in hand with economic realism to save future generations.”
Chetan Sharma, Chief Guest:
“Mishra deserves immense praise for this wonderful book. The chapters are short, incisive, and pack a quick, comprehensive view of each landmark judgment within just one and a half pages.”
He further highlighted that the book stands as a “first” in legal literature to explicitly trace how toxic waste has historically entered India - shining a light on the nation as a recipient of global waste.
Swami Advaitanand Giri offered a profound spiritual and ecological perspective, proposing the intensive planting of indigenous Peepal trees amidst Delhi’s existing Keekar tree forests as a practical solution to urban environmental degradation.
Sr. Advocate Sridhar Potaraju:
“Sudhir has travelled across the length and breadth of the country to the deepest forests of India. His passion and commitment have effectively made environmental law a mainstream practice in India, beautifully merging it with corporate law to ensure true compliance.”
Sudhir Mishra, Author:
“This book represents the absolute mainstreaming of environmental law. My vision is for this compendium to become the ‘DD Basu of Environmental Law’ - a definitive, foundational commentary for generations to come.”
“Climate change is no longer just an environmental issue; it is a deeply constitutional and emotional issue.”
The author dedicated the book to his children and to the public.
Every attendee who purchased a copy of the book was presented with a living plant pot - a unique symbol of the event’s commitment to environmental values.
Closing Address - Ms. Petal Chandhok, Partner, Trust Legal:
Ms. Chandhok congratulated Mishra on his monumental achievement and praised OakBridge Publishing for their exceptional curation and production of the book.
The book is now available for purchase nationwide across major legal retail platforms.
