Strategic affairs expert, author, and media commentator Maroof Raza has passed away. A retired officer of the Indian Army, Raza had extensive experience in counter-insurgency operations and later emerged as a respected voice on national security and defence matters.
An alumnus and former School Captain (Batch of 1975) of Mayo College, he combined operational insight with academic depth. He was a Times of India Fellow and held visiting fellowships at leading global institutions.
Through his work as a lecturer, writer, and television commentator, Raza played a key role in shaping public understanding of strategic and security issues in India and abroad. He is survived by his family.
