Senior journalist Yogesh Vajpayee has passed away. He was around 79 years old. He breathed his last on January 28, 2026, at his home in Noida. He is survived by his wife and two children.
Yogesh Bajpai's journalistic career has been long and illustrious. He began with the National Herald and then worked for major newspapers such as Northern India Patrika, the Times of India, the Indian Express, the New Indian Express, the Telegraph, and Tehelka. He later joined Lokmat Times.
He was known for his keen understanding of Uttar Pradesh politics. He was also awarded the Sarojini Naidu Award (2001-02) for his outstanding reporting on women and Panchayati Raj.
The Press Club of India expressed its deep sorrow over the passing of Yogesh Vajpayee. In its condolence message, the Press Club of India stated that the journalistic world has suffered a significant loss with the passing of Yogesh Vajpayee.
A memorial service for Yogesh Vajpayee is scheduled for February 7, 2026 (Saturday) at 4 p.m. on the lawns of the Press Club of India.
