Pakistan has once again played a dirty trick against India. In the latest development, Zee News has claimed that Pakistani cyber hackers tried to attack its three centres - Mumbai, Bhopal and Patna. However, the channel's cyber experts foiled this attempt in time.
According to Zee News, this attack was not just an attack on a media organization, but on India's digital sovereignty. After this claim surfaced, a wave of concern has spread among cyber security and strategic affairs experts.
Pakistan's frustration came out in the open
Zee News has been continuously exposing the activities of Pakistan's terrorist network and army. This is the reason why the channel has been under the radar of the Pakistani administration. Earlier, when India entered Pakistan under 'Operation Sindoor' and destroyed the terrorist hideouts, Pakistan had banned the broadcast of Zee News in its country. Now, taking this forward, an attempt was made to launch a cyber attack.
Experts said- this is cyber terror
Cyber experts have termed this attack as “cyber terrorism” and “psychological warfare”. They say that this is not just a technical attack but a deliberate attempt to spread fear and confusion among the public.
Cyber law expert Pawan Duggal told Zee News, "This attack is an indication that such attempts will intensify in the coming times. This is a new type of war, in which guns are not being used, but keyboards are being used. The question is, are we mentally, technically and strategically prepared for this?"
India's cyber defense capability is strong
However, the good thing is that India's cyber security system identified and foiled this attempt at an early stage. According to Zee News, cyber experts say that India has strong structures and prepared teams to deal with such incidents, but in the changing environment, vigilance and preparedness will have to be strengthened further.
It is worth noting that this incident has come to light a few days after Operation Sindoor. In response to the Pahalgam terror attack, India had entered Pakistan-occupied areas and destroyed nine terrorist bases. Pakistan, which is enraged by this military action, has tried to attack Zee News on the digital front along with stopping its broadcast.
