Kap’s Café launched by Kapil Sharma has made its entry into the Middle East and is a continuation of Sharma’s café venture following its international presence in Surrey, Canada. The café positions itself within the city’s casual café segment.
On the design viewpoint, the café has adopted a contemporary style, incorporating pastel colour palette with pinks and greens, modest lighting and functional furniture, making the vibes cozy yet Instagram-able. The design does take its reference from Sharma’s Netflix’s “The Great Indian Kapil Show” but the influence has been kept to a minimal level, symbolically acknowledging series, yet refraining from actual set representations or installations. The interior layout also hints at a functional design, intended to support short commerce transactions, with sitting arrangements amicable to small gatherings.
Operationally, Kap's Café represents a segment of the vibrant café industry in Dubai, which has grown in a rather rapid fashion as a function of ‘lifestyle consumption, home working, and all-day dining.’ As Dubai continues to attract personality-led food and beverage ventures from India and elsewhere, Kap’s Cafe becomes part of a broader trend where entertainment brands extend into physical spaces.
