  • Gaana and FENIX360 announced a partnership to create a direct artist-fan ecosystem within the Gaana app, enhancing discovery, engagement, and monetization for artists and fans.
  • The initiative was presented at the All About Music event in Mumbai, outlining a roadmap for new features expected to be integrated by the end of the year.
  • Key features include a native scrolling social feed for artists, digital storefronts, merchandise sales, ticketing for live shows, and a dedicated artist app for community management and audience insights.
  • The partnership aims to transform music streaming into a platform for deeper artist-fan relationships, allowing artists to retain 70% of revenue from monetization tools and providing fans with opportunities for engagement beyond passive listening.

Gaana and FENIX360 today unveiled plans to bring a new direct artist-fan ecosystem into the Gaana app, combining discovery, engagement and monetisation within the streaming experience.

The partnership was showcased at All About Music in Mumbai during the session, “GAANA & FENIX 360 – Building the Artist Fan Ecosystem.” The session outlined the roadmap for the partnership and previewed the first set of features expected to be integrated into Gaana by the end of the year.

The partnership brings together Gaana, one of India’s leading audio-streaming platforms and a growing player in the digital audio ecosystem, and FENIX360, a creator-focused platform designed to enable alternative revenue opportunities for artists. Together, the companies aim to create a more direct relationship between artists and their audiences by bringing content, community and commerce together within one ecosystem.

At the centre of the integration will be a native scrolling social feed within Gaana, enabling artists to share visual content around their work while allowing fans to discover, follow and engage with them without having to move across multiple platforms.

The wider ecosystem will also introduce new monetisation opportunities for artists. Through FENIX360’s tools, artists will be able to build digital storefronts, offer physical and digital merchandise, sell tickets to live shows, host gated and paid live streams, and receive direct financial support from their fans.

A dedicated artist app will give creators access to multimedia upload tools, audience insights and community management capabilities, helping them better understand and engage their fanbase. A key part of the proposition is FENIX360’s creator-first monetisation model, under which artists will retain 70% of the revenue generated through its monetisation tools.

The partnership comes as the role of music-streaming platforms continues to evolve beyond playlists and passive listening. Increasingly, the opportunity lies in creating deeper relationships between artists and fans and giving creators more ways to build value around those relationships.

For artists, the Gaana-FENIX360 ecosystem is designed to create new ways to build communities around their work and generate revenue beyond traditional streaming. For fans, it creates the opportunity to move from simply listening to becoming part of an artist’s wider community — following their content, supporting their work, attending their shows and accessing exclusive experiences.

Yatish Mehrishi, CEO, Entertainment Network India Limited (ENIL), which owns and operates Gaana, said: “Music platforms need to evolve from places where people simply listen to music into ecosystems where artists and fans discover, engage and connect. With FENIX360, Gaana is taking an industry-first step in bringing this direct-to-fan experience into music streaming, creating new ways for fans to engage with artists while enabling artists to build communities and create new revenue opportunities from their fan relationships.”

Allan Mark Klepfisz, Founder, Chairman and CEO of FENIX360, said: “Streaming transformed how people access music. The next opportunity is to transform what streaming can do for artists. Our partnership with Gaana is about giving artists more direct ways to connect with their audiences, build stronger communities and create sustainable revenue opportunities around their fan relationships.”

As streaming platforms evolve into broader entertainment ecosystems, the Gaana-FENIX360 partnership aims to make music discovery the starting point for a deeper artist-fan relationship — one that can extend into community, experiences and new revenue opportunities for artists.
