Diligent Media faces Rs 4 crore GST demand notice

Diligent Media Corporation Limited has received a GST demand notice of approximately Rs 3.99 crore from the Mumbai office of the Assistant Commissioner of State Tax. The notice includes the principal tax along with interest and penalties.
The case relates to the financial year 2019-20, when the company transferred leasehold rights of an industrial plot in Mumbai.
The GST department claims that the transaction was liable for tax, which the company did not pay, prompting the demand.
Diligent Media has expressed its disagreement with the notice. The company has previously approached the Bombay High Court in a similar matter and intends to challenge this new order in court as well.
