The Broadcast Engineering Society (India) – Mumbai Chapter will host the Broadcast & Media Technology Seminar 2026 on September 29, 2026, at Doordarshan Kendra, Worli, Mumbai, under the theme 'Broadcasting Beyond Boundaries'.
The seminar aims to unite professionals from broadcasting and media sectors to discuss emerging technologies and the future of broadcasting, focusing on the integration of traditional technologies with advancements such as AI, cloud infrastructure, and immersive audio.
The event will feature an inaugural session with notable speakers, including R. Krishnadas and Dr. Annurag Batra, who will provide insights into the evolving broadcasting landscape.
Three technical sessions will cover topics such as next-era video architectures, digital transformation in broadcasting, and modern cloud-based solutions, allowing for expert presentations and audience interaction.

The Broadcast Engineering Society (India) – Mumbai Chapter is organising the Broadcast & Media Technology Seminar 2026 at the Doordarshan Kendra, Worli, Mumbai, on September 29, 2026, on the theme 'Broadcasting Beyond Boundaries'.

The seminar will bring together professionals from the broadcasting and media sectors, technology experts, industry representatives, academicians, and other stakeholders to deliberate on emerging technologies and the future of broadcasting.

The one-day seminar will focus on the rapid transformation of the broadcasting ecosystem and the convergence of traditional broadcast technologies with Artificial Intelligence, IP-based workflows, cloud infrastructure, immersive audio, remote production, digital radio, virtual production, intelligent archives, and content security.

The seminar will commence with the inaugural session, “Vision 2026: Navigating the New Broadcasting Frontier.” The session will feature the welcome address by R. Krishnadas, Chairman, BES(I) Mumbai & ADG(E), followed by addresses by the distinguished Guests of Honour, Praveen Kumar Kawade, Zonal Head (WZ), Sunil, President Emeritus, President- IETE, and Chairman, Engineering Council of India, and Special Invitee, Rajat Nigam, CTO – Head of Technology & Media Operations, JioStar India.

Dr. Annurag Batra, Chairman & Editor in Chief - BW Businessworld, will deliver the Keynote Address, offering valuable perspectives on the evolving broadcasting landscape and the opportunities and challenges shaping its future.

The seminar will feature three technical sessions covering key areas of broadcasting technology. The first technical session, “Next-Era Video Architectures: From Camera to Screen,” will focus on immersive audio, remote production and low-latency live contribution, AI-driven broadcasting, and SMPTE ST 2110 and IP-based production workflows.

The second technical session, “Digital Transformation of Network: Intelligent Sound and Modern Archives,” will deliberate on public service broadcasting in the digital age, digital radio, Community Radio, AI-powered audio processing, LEO satellite Broadcasting & communication, as well as media asset management and intelligent archives.

The third & concluding technical session, “Broadcasting : Cloud Playout, Security & Virtual Studios,” will focus on modern OTT architectures, virtual production, cloud-native broadcasting and content protection, including DRM and watermarking technologies.

Each technical session will feature expert presentations, discussions, and knowledge- sharing, followed by an audience Q&A, providing participants an opportunity to interact with speakers and gain insights into emerging technologies, industry practices, and the evolving broadcasting ecosystem.

The BROADCAST & MEDIA TECHNOLOGY SEMINAR 2026, organized by BES(I) Mumbai Chapter, is envisaged as a platform for professional interaction, technical knowledge exchange, and meaningful discussion on the evolving role of broadcasting in an increasingly connected, converged, and technology-driven media environment.
