TikTok has helped raise Rs 30 crore for the PM CARES Fund through an in-app quiz game called “Kheloge Aap, Jeetega India.” The Bytedance-owned company made the revelation through a blog post today.

The quiz, available in 11 local languages, was developed with the aim to “Educate, Engage and Empower” users by sharing COVID-19 preventive measures through the game. TikTok promised users that it would donate to the PM CARES Fund if they participated in the quiz.

This helped increased participation with over seven million entries from TikTok users across the globe in just five days.

Buoyed by the support and enthusiasm of users, TikTok revealed that it will be donating 10x more than the amount originally promised.

“As a socially responsible platform, we are committed to supporting the safety and well-being of people through our platform. We deeply appreciate and thank our users for coming forward to spread awareness and contribute to India’s fight against COVID-19,” the company revealed.

TikTok has partnered with many governmental and non-profit organisations such as MyGov, WHO, PIB and UNICEF India to fight the coronavirus pandemic with campaigns like #GharBaithoIndia and #JanataCurfew.
