OpenAI has asked the Delhi high court to turn down a petition filed by a group of Indian and global publishers, accusing it of copyright breaches.
OpenAI has said that it has only used the content for giving out public information, news reports have quoted OpenAI as mentioning in the court documents.
This comes a day after the digital arm of Hindustan Times, Indian Express, NDTV, along with Digital News Publishers Association (DNPA) sought intervention along with ANI, which was the first to file the lawsuit.
Even earlier, an OpenAI spokesperson had said: "We build our AI models using publicly available data, in a manner protected by fair use and related principles, and supported by long-standing and widely accepted legal precedents".
