Google launches Gemini 3.7 Flash for coding and AI agent workflows

Google has launched Gemini 3.7 Flash, its latest artificial intelligence model aimed at software coding and automated business workflows, as competition intensifies among Big Tech and AI companies over enterprise agents and developer tools.

The new model is positioned as a lower-cost option for businesses building autonomous AI systems that can plan tasks, use software tools and execute multi-step workflows with limited human intervention.

According to Google, Gemini 3.7 Flash improves on its predecessor in coding-related tasks, including debugging, resolving software issues and generating production-ready code. The launch comes just three weeks after Gemini 3.6 Flash, underlining the pace at which Google is iterating its AI models.

To encourage adoption, Google is offering Gemini 3.7 Flash at an introductory price of $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens through the end of 2026. That is half the original cost of Gemini 3.6 Flash.

The model is also being rolled out immediately to Gemini Spark, Google’s subscription-based AI agent service, which is available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in more than 160 countries.

The launch comes as Google seeks to strengthen its position against rivals including OpenAI and Anthropic, particularly in AI coding and agentic applications. Investors have also been watching for Google’s more powerful Gemini 3.5 Pro model, which the company said in July was being tested with partners and would arrive “soon”. Google has not yet provided a release date.

The rollout follows a period of internal change at Google DeepMind. The company recently overhauled the division’s leadership, while two of Gemini’s original technical co-leads departed to start a new venture.
