The latest on the grapevine is that Gaurav Gandhi who recently quit Viacom18 Digital Ventures as its COO is slated to join Amazon India Prime Video as Country Head. Calls and mails to Gandhi by exchange4media went unanswered, however, the US-streaming giant responded saying they have 'nothing to announce'.
Gandhi who spearheaded the launch of Viacom18’s two-year-old digital venture Voot, led it to become one of the front-runners in the Indian online video space.
During his eight-year stint in Viacom18, Gandhi has contributed significantly. Prior to his latest role, he did a commendable job in growing its franchise overseas, establishing a strong distribution business at IndiaCast and leading the commercial function during the early days of the organisation.

His previous stints in leadership roles have been at NDTV Imagine (Executive Vice President – Business Operations & Content Sales); Star TV / Star Group (Vice President, Commercial & Business Planning); Turner International India and Madison Communications.

Last August Amazon Prime Video India’s former country head Nitesh Kripalani put down his papers owing to personal reasons. Since then Vijay Subramaniam, Director, Content for Prime Video India, was his replacement for an interim period.
