Shashi Sinha to be bestowed with ‘Distinguished Alumnus Award 2024’ by IIT Kanpur

Shashi Sinha, CEO – India, IPG Mediabrands, has been bestowed with the “Distinguished Alumnus Award 2024” by the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Sinha completed his degree in engineering from the prestigious institute in 1979.
The Distinguished Alumnus Award is the highest award given by the institute to its alumni in recognition of their achievements of exceptional merit.
The award felicitation ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at IIT Kanpur.
Sinha holds the double distinction of being a pass out from two of India’s premier educational institutes – the IIT and the IIM. He started his career with Parle as Product Manager, and eventually set up Lodestar—India’s first specialised media planning and buying agency—in 1990.
He was named the India CEO of IPG Mediabrands when the group consolidated its business in the country.
Sinha was also conferred the “Distinguished Alumnus Award” by IIM Bangalore in 2012.
