Starcom has secured the media mandate for McDonald’s India in the South and West regions after the fast-food giant initiated a pitch process in April this year, inviting select agencies including Publicis and OMD to participate.

The account, according to sources, is estimated to be worth around Rs 60 crore, and was previously handled by Madison, which oversaw media duties including digital for the South and West markets. OMD continues to manage McDonald’s media responsibilities for the North and East regions. The company follows a regional approach, working with different agencies for each part of the country.

“We welcome Starcom India as our new Agency of Record (AOR) for media. Starcom brings a strong blend of strategic thinking and future-forward capabilities across data, digital, and tech, making them well-placed to partner with us on our growth journey. We would also like to thank Madison for a collaborative partnership that has spanned over the past two decades,” Arvind R.P., CMO – McDonald’s India (W&S) said.

On the global stage, McDonald’s expanded its partnership with Publicis Groupe in December 2021, appointing Starcom as its lead national media agency in the U.S. This move encompassed national media planning and buying, as well as customer data analytics and digital marketing services.
