Few men are a legend in their own life time. Sir Martin Sorell is one such. On the occasion of Sir Martin Sorrell’s birthday, all of us at TAM Media Research send our warmest wishes and our deepest gratitude to a leader whose encouragement has been the most inspiring for us to reach the stars.

In the early years of TAM, when audience measurement in India was still finding acceptance and credibility had to be earned patiently, Sir Martin’s belief in the importance of independent, reliable data gave us reassurance and confidence. To us, he is not just a global industry icon — he is someone who understood why & what we were building truly mattered. His conviction that decisions in advertising must be guided by evidence, fairness, and transparency helped us stay the course during some of our most challenging and defining years.

What we truly treasure most is not only his extraordinary achievements, but his respect for institutions like us and for people who quietly work behind the scenes to strengthen our industry. His interest in how Indian audiences were evolving, his openness to local realities, and his faith in our role of measurement helped reinforce trust in the very idea of a common media currency.

Over time, his support became a source of pride and motivation for our team. It reminded us that our work was part of something larger — building confidence between advertisers, agencies, and broadcasters, and helping the industry grow responsibly.

Sir Martin’s legacy will always be written in the companies he built and the global standards he set. But for us at TAM Media Research, he will also live in our hearts thru his words of encouragement he extended, the confidence he inspired, and the values he championed: integrity, rigor, and belief in facts.

We wish Sir Martin Sorrell good health, happiness, and continued inspiration in the years ahead. Thank you for believing in measurement, and in a young institution like TAM that was striving to find its place. Personally, I will always remain grateful for his guidance and deeply respectful. Happy Birthday again and Cheers for many more wonderful years ahead. Looking forward to seeing you in person soon.
