Dr. Sandeep Goyal stands among India’s most influential advertising, media and brand strategy leaders, an industry architect whose career spans over four decades across advertising, broadcasting, digital innovation, brand consultancy, and public service. On his birthday (December 5), it is fitting to celebrate a professional journey marked by leadership across some of India’s most powerful media and marketing institutions.
Dr. Goyal currently serves as Managing Director of Rediffusion Brand Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a role he has held since May 2021. His stewardship of Rediffusion marks a return to one of India’s most storied creative agencies, reaffirming his lifelong commitment to strengthening Indian advertising. Under his leadership, Rediffusion has sharpened its creative focus, expanded its strategic capabilities, and repositioned itself as a modern, insights-led agency group with renewed ambition.
Since June 2020, Dr. Goyal has also served as the CEO of the Punjab CSR Authority, Government of Punjab. In this public leadership role, he has overseen CSR governance and partnerships aimed at strengthening development outcomes for the state—a significant extension of his commitment to social impact and responsible corporate engagement.
Parallel to these roles, Dr. Goyal continues to chair Mogae Media, the company he co-founded in 2011. Over the past 14+ years, Mogae has built a strong reputation in digital marketing, mobile engagement, and content-driven brand solutions. His entrepreneurial work at Mogae reflects his early recognition of India’s mobile-first evolution and his ability to blend creativity with technology.
Dr. Goyal’s tenure as Chairman of Dentsu India from 2003 to 2011 remains one of the landmark phases of his career. He played a pivotal role in establishing and scaling Dentsu’s India operations, building the foundation for what would eventually become one of the country’s largest and most diversified marketing networks. His leadership era is often credited with bringing Japanese precision, discipline, and long-term brand thinking into the Indian advertising ecosystem.
Before Dentsu, Dr. Goyal was Group CEO of Zee Telefilms Ltd. from 2001 to 2002, during a period when Indian television was undergoing massive transformation. At Zee, he oversaw content, distribution, and growth strategies for one of India’s biggest media conglomerates, strengthening the network’s relevance and competitive positioning.
From 1997 to 2001, he served as President of Rediffusion Y&R, where he led the agency’s strategic and creative agenda across marquee brands. This early leadership role helped shape his understanding of consumer behaviour, brand purpose, and communication at scale.
Beyond these appointments, Dr. Sandeep Goyal is also the Chairman of the India Advisory Board of Snap Inc. and the Chief Mentor of the Indian Institute of Human Brands (IIHB). His extensive work in celebrity endorsements, brand ambassadors, and consumer insight mapping has positioned him as one of India’s foremost authorities on brand-human relationships.
